But here's the good news—it doesn't have to be that way. With us as your partner, your renovation can be an exciting and rewarding experience.   • Step 1: Inquiry

    Let’s Connect
    Reach out to us—call, email, or fill out our project questionnaire (at the bottom of the page). We’ll take the time to understand your vision, challenges with your space, any prior renovation experience, your budget, and your timeline. We’ll also talk about what you’re looking for in a renovation partner.

    A Quick Chat With a Specialist
    Once we receive your inquiry, one of our Renovation & Design Specialists will send you a link to set up a short 15-minute call to dive deeper. Together, we’ll discuss your project goals, how V&M can help, and give you a sense of what your investment might look like.

  • Step 2: Consultation

    In-Home Visit
    If our design-build services align with your goals, we’ll schedule an in-home consultation. This is where we’ll sit down together to explore what your renovation truly means for you and your family. We’ll learn about your lifestyle, identify your priorities, and confirm a comfortable investment level.

    Commitment to the Next Step
    We’ll develop a preliminary budget and outline an initial scope of work based on what we’ve learned during the site visit and our discussions.

    Once we present this to you, we’ll review everything together, fine-tune the details, and make any necessary adjustments. If the estimate doesn’t align with your budget, we’ll work with you to explore all options to help you achieve your goals without compromise.

  • Step 3: Site Investigation

    Gathering the Details
    This is where the excitement begins! Our Renovation & Design Specialist, joined by key team members like a Project Manager, Lead Carpenter, or sub-trades, will visit your home for an in-depth assessment.

    During this visit, we’ll take a close look at your space to understand the challenges you want to address and evaluate the structural components of your home. We’ll also gather essential details—key measurements, photos, and observations—that will guide us in crafting your custom renovation solution.

    This step sets the foundation for an accurate layout & design of your home, paving the way for an exceptional design phase.

  • Step 4: Finalize Construction Agreement

    Pre Production
    We’ll present working drawings and detailed specifications based on our discussions and your objectives. Together, we’ll review product selections and descriptions to ensure every detail aligns with your vision. A comprehensive renovation agreement will be provided, including any available options and allowances, giving you confidence that we’ve truly understood your needs and captured your ideas. The agreement will also outline the construction start date, the project timeline, and the total cost, so you have a clear and complete picture of what to expect.

  • Step 5: Construct with Confidence

    Construction
    Your Lead Carpenter is on-site daily, keeping you updated on progress through your preferred communication—whether it’s in-person, text, or email. They ensure your project stays on track, with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and quality.

    Your Project Manager leads the team, handling communication with all trades and providing weekly updates on deliverables, progress, and any issues. They’ll meet with you at key stages to keep you informed.

    If changes arise, we’ll send you a Change Order for approval, whether or not it affects cost, so everything is documented and agreed upon.

    Towards the end, we’ll create a punch list to ensure any final touches or fixes are addressed. The Project Manager and Lead Carpenter will review it with you, providing an updated timeline for completion. Everything is carefully tracked to ensure nothing is missed.

  • Step 6: Aftercare

    Post Renovation
    Once everything is cleaned up and polished, your new space is ready for you to enjoy! We’ll check in with you 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months after the project is finished to make sure everything is just right. We offer a one-year warranty on all labor, and if you're interested, we also have an extended two-year warranty. Just let your Project Manager know, and they’ll happily provide all the details!
